Grasshoppers from the Backyard

The tiny world of these strong legged jumpers as always mesmerized my youth and still does to this day.  I have fond memories of poking holes in the top of an old plastic jar of JIF to catch these critters in.  Thanks Mom for all those times you laboriously washed of the labels for my viewing pleasure.

Martha's Vineyard Frames

My wife and I have had fun taking pictures of all the interesting things here on the island.  I've started a black and white collection and great beach scenes that I have spotted.  I plan on selling these prints with a driftwood frame in the Spring at the Martha's Vineyard Farmers Market on Saturday.  If anyone is interested in pre-purchasing any frames please email me.

Insect Photography

I love photographing the tiny underworld of the creepy crawlers. The intricate detail that is hard to see is captured through the camera.

Squibnoket, Martha's Vineyard

We went out the other day to Squibnoket  in Martha's Vineyard.  Squibnoket is a beautiful little beach nestled away on the island.  There are no signs to get there it's just off an uninviting paved road.  There were some beautiful colors in nature that had washed up on the beach so I had to shot a few pictures.  The way I have them displayed really makes the beach come alive.

Patriotic Art

I've always been a fan of patriotic art and just wanted to post some of my favorites that I've found.

Tea Cup Clock Outline Cutting

Once I had drawn the layout for the tea cup I just got out my jigsaw and started cutting.  I just a skinny blade and took my time to ensure a smooth cut on the curves.  I then used a belt sander to smooth down the edges.

Tea Cup Clock Layout

I have started the tea-cup clock and hope that gift will be something my wife enjoys.  I spotted the tea cup clock in a magazine and the original clock comes from a Canadian company called Umbra.  You can check out their website at: www.umbra.com  I started laying out the teacup clock referring back to my High School Geometry class.
